Francis B. Deming

Francis B. Deming, 80, a long time Berlin resident, died Saturday at home. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Henry and Margery Brandegee Deming. He was formerly employed at Rowland Products which became Rowmark, before retiring. Francis was a Born Again Christian and was Faithful to the Lord. He was a devoted member of Berlin Congregational Church, where he had served as a deacon, on the church council, and as a member of the choir. He attended Bible study and Prayer Group, was active with World Vision and Youth Challenge in Hartford, and was a member of Full Gospel Business Men. Francis was an excellent photographer, having won several prices at the Durham Fair. He also enjoyed Ballroom dancing for which he had won several prizes at the state level. He was an avid traveler as well. Francis had a gentle soul that brightened the lives of people around him. Surviving are his cousins, Edith Deming Wilson of Southington and Elizabeth Deming Nelson of Berlin; his conservator, Mrs. Grete Pekrul of Southington; and many friends at the Calendar House in Southington, Berlin Congregational Church, and throughout the Berlin community. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Berlin Congregational Church. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow at church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berlin Congregational Church. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
