Frances M. Thureson, 99, of Kensington, died peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Ledgecrest Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Carl Thureson and Leo Bigoness. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace Bacon. She was a former New Britain resident and a Kensington resident for over 50 years. Frances was formerly employed at the Jerome Home in New Britain and was a member of the Kensington United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mona Smith of Terryville; five grandchildren, Robert W. Thureson of Kensington, Margaret Burton, William Smith, Scott Smith and Kimberly Lyon, all of Terryville; her great-grandchildren, Stacey, Karen and Michael Thureson, Kevin Smith, Sandra Lyon, Heather Smith, Rebecca Lyon, Stephanie Gardner, and Jeffrey Blees; a granddaughter-in-law, Marylou Thureson of Collinsville; her great-great-grandchildren, Sammy, Megan, Gracie, and Mark Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert W. Thureson, and a grandson, Gary T. Thureson. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kensington United Methodist Church, 103 Hotchkiss St. Kensington, CT 06037.
