Frances M. Pietrick, 95, of Avon passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Frances was a life long resident of New Britain. She was born on January 30, 1914 in Terryville and was the daughter of the late Frank C. Steiner and Molly L. Conopast. Frances was married for 55 years and was the widow of John A. Pietrick. Frances leaves a son, John F. Pietrick and his wife Robin; two granddaughters, Jenna P. Gray and her husband William and Jill C. Lawson and her husband Joshua. She also leaves a sister, Marjorie L. Steiner and Mabel S. Fraser deceased; two cousins, Mrs. Louise Ferguson and Mrs. Edie Miastkowski; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. Frances worked in the payroll department of the Stanley Works and then served for many years as the Assistant Secretary at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Britain. As a long-time member of St. John's Evangelical Church, Frances served on the Altar Guild, was a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Quilters Club. Calling hours will be at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain on Friday, April 17th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made to the memorial fund at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
