Frances Maitz

Frances Maitz, 96, of New Britain, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at Ridgeview Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Adolph Maitz who died in 1989. Born in Graz, Austria, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Franziska Gross. She was a long-time New Britain resident and was formerly employed at Kolodney's in New Britain. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Seniors Group at church, and the New Britain Senior Citizens. Surviving are two sons, Adolph F. Maitz of Forestville, Donald W. Maitz, Sr. and his wife Krystyn of Berlin; three grandchildren, Alexander Maitz, Donald Maitz, Jr. and Katherine Waldman; and a great-grandson, Dustin Crawford. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
