Frances Ciandella

Frances Ciandella, 83, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Hospital of Central CT surrounded by her devoted family. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Nazzareno and Santa Spada Puglisi. Frances was a life long resident of New Britain and a member of St Ann Church. She was a former president of Regina Elena Canicattina Bagna Womens' Association. Surviving are two daughters, Paula Saccente and her husband John of New Britain and Sandra Ewing of Hartford; a sister, Constance Silvestro and her husband Pat of New Britain; five grandchildren, Jason Saccente and his wife Jeanette, Trevor Saccente and his wife Danielle, Deena Saccente, Rachel Ewing, and Jessica Ewing; and one great grandchild, Liya Saccente. Also surviving are her husband, Harry Ciandella of New Britain; her cousin, Ann Demaio and her husband Anthony; her nieces and nephews Paula, Patsy, and Cheryl Silvestro; and her grand nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jenna and Patrick. Her loving family was the most important part of her life. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
