Faith Churchill

Faith (Scalise) Churchill, 77, of Berlin, wife of John Preston Churchill, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late James J. Scalise and Adeline (Marinelli) Scalise.  Faith attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph College, Trinity College, and Southern Connecticut State University.  Faith taught English and English as a second language in the New Britain Public Schools for many years.  For the last 17 years before retiring in 2001, she worked as a school psychologist at New Britain High School.  Faith was a past member of the Connecticut and National Association of School Psychologists and the New Britain, Connecticut, and American Federation of Teachers.

Surviving are her husband, John Preston Churchill; two daughters, Anne Elizabeth Churchill of Berlin and Alison Jane Churchill of Newington; a sister, Marguerite S. Butera and husband C. Joseph Butera of Glastonbury; a brother-in-law, Lindsey C. Churchill and wife Roberta of Princeton, NJ; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren,  grandnieces and grandnephews.  Faith was predeceased by a brother, Pasquale J. Scalise, and by a sister, Lucille Scalise Higgins.
