The world became a little quieter on June 6, 2026, when Evelyn Pawlina entered eternal rest after a courageous battle with lung cancer, which later spread to her brain. Evelyn faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and determination. Even in her hardest moments, she continued to show love, protect her family, and bring comfort to those around her.
Born on February 2, 1959, Evelyn lived a life rooted in compassion and resilience. She was a devoted mother to Maranda Zullo and Kenisha Pawlina, and a proud grandmother to Freddie, Caleb, and Danielys Zullo. She was also a devoted mother to her step daughter Sarah Pawlina and granddaughter Camilla. She shared a deep bond with her son-in-law Daniel Zullo, and she cherished her mother Dolores Rivera, her brother Carlos Rivera, and her sister Lillian Arroyo. She is reunited in heaven with her father, Concepción Rivera, whose memory she carried with her always.
Evelyn also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved deeply and who will forever remember her warmth, humor, and the way she made each of them feel special. Evelyn loved her family fiercely. She found joy in simple moments - talking, laughing, cooking, and being surrounded by the people she loved most. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the memories she leaves behind. And just like the message of her favorite song, "I Will Survive," she showed her family what strength truly looks like. That spirit - her spirit - will live on in all who loved her forever.
