Eunice Emily Mann. Stadler, 92 of Barkhamsted, formerly of New Britain, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center. She was predeceased September 1993 by her husband of 57 years Robert J. Stadler VMD. She was born in New Britain March 23, 1916 to Baker E. and Sadie N. Mann. For many years during WW II she assisted her husband, a well known and respected Veterinarian with his practice on East Street in New Britain. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, 1934 and attended Teacher's College of CT for 3 years. She lived in Connecticut all of her life moving from New Britain to Barkhamsted in 1957. She was employed for 18 years as a Service Manager and Assistant Telephone Office Manager for G. Fox & Co. in Hartford. Mrs. Stadler was also a Nurse Technician in the operating room for New Britain General Hospital for several years retiring in 1969. She served as President of the New Britain Business & Professional Women's Club. Eunice was a member of the Republican Town Committee and an election official for the town of Barkhamsted for many years. Eunice became a member of the Barkhamsted Seniors and participated in many of their activities. Eunice enjoyed vacationing on Prince Edward Island, Canada and was an avid curler having served as the President of the Norfolk Curling Club Women Curlers. She was also an avid golfer. She leaves behind her three sons and their wives, Robert J. Jr. and Carole Stadler of Barkhamsted, Richard B. & Lauretta Stadler of Newington, Paul W. & Beverly Stadler of Burlington, 7 grand children and 10 great grand children. She also will miss her sister in law Mrs. Earl W. Florian Stadler of Fort Worth Texas along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St, New Britain. There will be a calling hour on Monday at 10:00AM immediately followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home with burial following in Fairview Cemetery alongside her husband and parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barkhamsted Senior Center, 109 West River Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06063
