Emma M. Saakova

With great sorrow, the Saakov family wishes to inform of the death of Emma M. Saakova, widow of Yuri Saakov. Who passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 85 on Tuesday Jan. 23, 2018, at John Dempsey Hospital, in Farmington, CT.

Born in Grozny, Chechen Republic, she is the daughter of Marteros and Mariam Saakov. Emma was a beloved mother and grandmother. She immigrated to the U.S., 25 years ago, and has been a vital member of the Armenian community in CT since. She is survived by her two children, Stella and Alex, and her beloved grandchildren Yelena and Alex Jr, her brother Edward and his wife Liliya and her children and grandchildren. She was proud to have seen her grandchildren grow up to become a pharmacist and an engineer. She was a valued member of St. George Armenian Church and Greater Hartford Armenian community. Emma will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 26th, at 1pm, at St. George Armenian Church, 22 White St., Hartford, CT., followed by burial services at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 25th at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. George Armenian Church.
