Elva Ellie Diedricksen, 90, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of New Britain and Madison, died May 2, 2012 in Fort Myers, FL. She was the widow of Alvin "Al" Diedricksen who died in 2007. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Elsa (Damling) Rund. She was a long time New Britain resident, spending her summers in Madison, before moving to Florida in 2008. Elva was a graduate of New Britain High School and was formerly employed in banking in Hartford. She was a member of South Church in New Britain. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends in Florida. Elva loved her home, cooking, baking, and shopping. She will be remembered for her warmth, smile, open heart, and her love for people. Surviving are her son, Glenn Diedricksen and his wife Sigrid of Madison, CT and Cape Coral, FL; two grandchildren, Derek and Dustin Diedricksen; and three great-grandchildren, Jonas, Alexandra, and Neveck. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Erwin Chapel at South Church, 90 Main St., New Britain. A reception at church will follow the service in the church parlor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
