Elsie Josephine Lindstrom

Elsie Josephine Gustafson Lindstrom died peacefully on January 15, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born on March 23, 1924. Elsie grew up in Montclair, NJ where she graduated from Montclair High School.  She worked at Monroe Calculating Machine Co. as a bookkeeper and married Ernest Arthur Lindstrom on June 16, 1951.  Together they raised their three daughters in Verona, NJ. Retirement years were spent in East Hampton, CT before moving to the Covenant Village in Cromwell, CT.

Elsie’s greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed summers at Pilgrim Pines and Camp-of-the-Woods and was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Montclair, NJ.

She is predeceased by her husband, Ernest Arthur Lindstrom and her sister, Ruth Bieber. She is survived by her brothers Swen Gustafson and Evert Gustafson; her three daughters; Anna Boronow and her husband Gordon, Sandra Holtin and her husband Paul, and Nancy Gocht and her husband Russell; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The service will take place at Hilltop Covenant Church, 82 Hicksville Road, Cromwell, CT on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by a time of refreshment and fellowship at Covenant Village of Cromwell, Hilltop Lounge at The Manor.
