Elsie Knight Bone, 84, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the widow of Jesse Bone who died in 2002. Born in Dayton, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Starr and Lula Lock Knight. Elsie was a New Britain resident since 1941. She was formerly employed in the Engineering Dept. at Johnson & Johnson before retiring and was associated with the Jehovah Witnesses. Surviving are her beloved daughter, Veronica L. Coker of West Haven; a loving granddaughter, Shaunda E. Sledge and her husband Clyde E. Sledge Jr. of West Haven; two special great-grandchildren, Clyde Jahod Sledge and Jadyn S. Sledge; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Bone, Sadie Ramey and Nora Bone; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
