Elsie Berner

Elsie Lindeman Berner, 85, of Newington, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 at New Britain General Hospital. She was the widow of Fred K. Berner, Jr., who died in 1995. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Pauline Lindeman. She was a New Britain resident before moving to Newington in 1977. Elsie was a member of St. Matthew' Lutheran Church, and the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, and the Fellowship group at church. She was also a member of the Newington Senior Citizens and the AARP. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Berner and his wife Virginia of Rocky Hill, and Fred E. Berner of Newington; a brother, Edward F. Lindeman and his wife Barbara of West Hartford; a grandson, Eric R. Berner and his wife Melissa of Nixa, MO; two great grandchildren, Christian and Catalina Berner; and several nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
