Elizabeth G. Thureson

Elizabeth G. Thureson, 77, formerly of Kensington, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Newington Healthcare Center. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna Witt Geiger. She was formerly employed at the Hartford Insurance Group and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Britain. Surviving are her son, Robert W. Thureson Jr. and his husband, Tim Sarkisian of Kensington; three grandchildren, Stacey Thureson, Karen Thureson, and Michael Thureson; a nephew, Kenneth Carley and his life companion, Kathy King. She was predeceased by a son, Gary T. Thureson, a brother, Louis Geiger, and two sisters, Helen Carley and Gladys Futterlieb. The family would like to thank the staff of the Newington Health Care Center and Vitas for all their help in making her stay with them as comfortable and caring as possible. A graveside service will be held in Quinnipiac Cemetery in Southington, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
