Elizabeth Deming Nelson

Elizabeth Deming Nelson, 95, of Berlin, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. She was the widow of Richard Nelson. Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Deming and Adelaide Brown Deming. Elizabeth was a life Long Berlin resident and was a graduate of Butler Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, RI. She was employed as a nurse at Berlin High School for 15 years and with the Berlin Public Health Department. Elizabeth was a member of Berlin Congregational Church, the D.A.R. Willard Wells Stanley Chapter, and the Berlin Free Library Reading Group. Surviving are a son, Richard D. Nelson and his wife Linda of Southington; a daughter, Betsy Jane Snyder and her husband Stanley of Oregon; three grandchildren, Todd Nelson, Eric Nelson, and Brian Nelson; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Nelson and Justin Nelson. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Berlin Congregational Church. Burial will be held privately in Maple Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berlin Congregational Church, 878 Worthington Ridge, Berlin, CT 06037.
