Elizabeth A. Cassidy

Elizabeth A. Cassidy, 65, of Kensington, beloved wife of Raymond Cassidy, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007. Born in Stamford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Lanefski Obman. She was a graduate of Stamford High School and resided in New Britain for two years before moving to Kensington in 1973. Elizabeth was a member of St. Paul's Church and the Prayer Shawl Knitting Group. She worked with her husband at High Tech Systems, a computer store in Kensington, and recently was teaching knitting and crocheting at Jo-Ann Stores in Newington. Surviving are her husband, Raymond Cassidy; a son, James Cassidy of Kensington, a daughter, Melissa Cassidy of Newington; and a brother, Richard Obman of Lady Lake, FL.; and her nieces and nephews, Michele Soulek of Casper, WY; Kristen Terzian of Bethel, CT; Daniel Cassidy of Bristol, CT; Lorin Cassidy of Burlington, CT; Emily Sustar of Lexington, SC; Patrick Cassidy of Burlington, CT. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Central CT, 205 West Main St., New Britain, CT 06052-1318.
