Eli Bagdasarian, 91, of New Britain, husband of Pauline Dembek Bagdasarian, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Peter and Tooran Torigian Bagdasarian. Eli was a life long New Britain resident and was formerly employed at Emhart. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Eli was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection and the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Eisenhofer of Kensington; two grandchildren, Michael and David; a great-granddaughter, Aliya; a nephew, Arthur Bagdasarian; grandnephews, Dean and Mark; and great-grandnephews Eric, Ryan, Jason, Mark, Matthew, and Justin. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Calling hours are Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley St., New Britain, CT 06053.
