Eleanore (Wesche) Diters, 93, of Plainville, formerly of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Jerome Home. She was the widow of Kenneth J. Diters. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Henry G. Wesche. Eleanore was raised by her grandmother Amelia (Gerber) Wesche, who also predeceased her. She grew up in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School. Eleanore was an executive secretary for American Hardware. She then went on to graduate with honors from Teachers College of CT, now known as CCSU. Eleanore taught fourth grade at the Duffy School in West Hartford where she was recognized as a merit educator. She and her husband Kenneth later moved to Plainville and built their house on the old Governor Trumbull Dairy Farm on Pinnacle Road, where they raised their family. Eleanore was a gifted artist, enjoying painting and pottery. She was a modern woman ahead of her time in her beliefs and thinking. Eleanore was an avid reader and a member of the Plainville Literary Club as well as the Plainville Womens Club, serving as President. Eleanore is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roark K. and Alicia Diters of San Martin, CA, her daughter Alison Diters Zirpolo of Plainville, and her grandchildren Forrest N. Zirpolo and Devon Faith Zirpolo. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and loving caregivers at Jerome Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Our Saviour, 115 West Main St., Plainville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
