Eleanora Busch

Eleanora (Semrow) Busch, 96, of Newington, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Newington Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha (Knopf) Semrow and was the wife of the late Herman Busch Jr. for 61 years. Born in Bridgeport, she was a former resident of New Britain where she attended local schools before moving to Newington 53 years ago. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed being a member of the Altar Guild. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader in Newington. Eleanora loved watching her grandchildren as they grew up and enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening. She is survived by a daughter Audrey Pessoni and a son-in-law, Douglas Pessoni of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a son Keith Busch Sr. and daughter-in-law, Alice Busch of Kensington; a sister, Dorothy Fuller of New Britain; five grandsons, Mark Pessoni, Matthew Pessoni, and Scott Pessoni of Hendersonville, Tenn., Keith Busch Jr. and Troy Busch of Kensington; a great-granddaughter, Ella Jean Pessoni of Beacon, NY; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Semrow of Southington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Adeline Ziegler, and by a brother, Robert Semrow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
