Eleanor A. Shaw

It’s with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Eleanor A. (Conti) Shaw on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 91.  She was surrounded by her loving family while taking her final breath.  Eleanor was the loving wife of Robert A. Shaw to whom she was married to for 51 years until Bob’s passing in September of 2007.  Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Natale and Anna (DePinto) Conti.  Ellie worked for many years at D & L Warehouse along with her two sisters bringing her much joy.  Eleanor was a member of St Ann’s Church and the Ladies Guild.

Ellie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and Nonna and was known for the great love of her family and has passed this down to her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two "favorite" daughters and their husbands, Doreen and Thomas Nadeau of West Hartford, and Darlene and Mark Jones of Southington; her four grandchildren whom she was so proud of and who have been so devoted to her caregiving during her time of need, Jason and his wife Tammy Nadeau, Matthew and his wife Kassandra Nadeau and Bryan and Samantha Jones; her two great grandchildren Juliette and Carson Nadeau who have brought such joy and pleasure to her and will always be the light of her life; as well as several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Shumsky and Madeline Lugli.

Ellie will truly be missed by all who were a part of her life; as we were recently told, it's amazing how one person can touch so many lives…we will miss you so much but you will always live on in our hearts. "I have no regrets with this life I have chosen but it's time to go home."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at St. Ann Church, St. Joachim Parish.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.  A calling hour will be Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St, New Britain.  For those that can not attend the services, please perform a random act of kindness in her memory.
