Eleanor Rinas

Eleanor (Bobroske) Rinas, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully on February 2nd at the Jefferson House ending her 95 year journey with her loved ones. She was born on August 26, 1922 to Louis and Helen Bobroske.  She has now joined the love of her life, Alfred Rinas, who passed away in 1990 after 40 years of marriage.

Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and their spouses, Karen and Walt Veselka from Old Lyme and Holly and Tony Stepensky from Newington.  Eleanor will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, Michael and Karoline Stepensky, Lukas and Emma from Newington; Christie and Ryan Eckert, Olivia and Eloise from Norwalk; Walter and Sarah Veselka, Flynt and Heath from West Virginia; and Amber Veselka, Trevor Currier and Morgan from California. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Will Kisser and sister-in-law, Beverly Bobroske. She will be forever remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Eleanor’s most precious moments were spent with her family, being surrounded by their laughter, teasing at Sunday dinners, and endless kisses and hugs by the great grandkids. She never complained and lived her life to the fullest.

Eleanor is predeceased by her twin sister, Agnes Poglitsch, her sisters; Linda Dubnansky, Doris Rinas, and Lydia Kisser, and her brother Gay Bobroske.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, at 11:00 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 295 Arch Street, New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Erickson Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main Street, New Britain.  The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Jefferson House for their outstanding care and compassion over the last three years.
