Eleanor Louise Seagrave Ashworth, 84, of Kensington, passed away at her home Saturday morning November 15, 2014. Eleanor was preceded by her husband of 56 years Cecil S. Ashworth. Eleanor was born in Middletown, CT. She was the daughter of the late Walter and the late Ruth (Champion) Seagrave. Eleanor graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School Middletown, CT. Prior to her retirement she worked at Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, CT. Eleanor was a member of the Kensington Congregational Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Berlin VFW Post 10732. She enjoyed bingo at the Berlin Senior Center and spending time with her family. Eleanor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Ben Vinci of Kensington; her son and daughter-in-law, William and Laurie Ashworth of Columbia; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Michael, Lucian and Anthony Vinci of Kensington and Carly and Billy Ashworth of Columbia; two sisters, Lillian Czapla of Wethersfield and Ruth Seagrave of Middletown; three brothers, Walter and sister-in-law Nancy Seagrave of Cromwell, John Seagrave of Middletown , Robert and sister-in-law Barbara Seagrave of Higganum; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and William Hammick of Plantsville, and Betty and Leroy Fredette of Granby MA. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Anthony Czapla of Wethersfield, and Alfred and sister-in-law Claire Ashworth of New Hampshire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 10 AM at Kensington Congregational Church 312 Percival Ave Kensington. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Donations in her name may be made to the Kensington Congregational Church Woman's Service League or the Berlin Senior Center.
