Elaine A. Hansen

Elaine Adell Hansen, 83, wife of the late Harley L. Hansen for 53 years, went home to heaven on November 16, 2016.

Daughter of the late Dagmar and Ernest Adell, she was born in Boston, MA, and raised in Arlington, MA.  Following their marriage, Elaine and Harley resided in Lexington, MA for thirty-four years before moving to Covenant Village of Cromwell, CT in 1997.  Elaine was a “people” person and loved entertaining friends in their home.  She was a wonderful cook, did meticulous handwork and loved to travel.  Photography was her hobby.

Elaine graduated from Arlington High School and Chandler School for Women in Boston.  She was a retiree of Shawmut Bank, a former member of the Bank Officers Assoc. of Boston and a long-time associate member of Lexington Minuteman, Inc.  Elaine was a member of Bethany Covenant Church of Berlin, CT and an associate member of Trinity Covenant Church of Lexington, MA where she served her Lord in numerous capacities, her special enjoyment being that of singing in the choir.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Jensen and brother-in-law, Kenneth Jensen, of West Bridgewater, MA; a sister-in-law, Arlene Murphy of Murphy, NC; nieces, Karin Swanson, Laura Reinert and Robin Tucker; and nephew, David Jensen.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of New Britain, CT.  A private committal service will be held at a later date.
