Elaine Gerent Dinda

Elaine Gerent Dinda, 82, widow of Joseph Dinda, and Gold Star mother, died December 28, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Elaine was born in New Britain, CT on November 22, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Rudy Gerent. She resided in Kensington for 46 years and was now living at Belair Manor in Newington. She retired from Southern New England Telephone SNET in 1984 as an operator. She is survived by one son, Richard Dinda, and two daughters Mary Ellen Dinda and Susan Dinda. She was predeceased by a son, Michael, who was killed in Vietnam in 1969. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jim Dinda, Kara Hommerding, and Rebecca Dinda. She is survived by one sister, Anna Pysar and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three brothers, William, Edward, and Alex Gerent; and by two sisters, Mary and Helen Blinn. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church, Alling St., Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
