Elaine Marie Arnett

Elaine M. Arnett, 60, of New Britain, CT returned to her heavenly home on April 15, 2025.

Elaine M. Arnett was born on August 10, 1964 in Fort Kent, Maine.  She was preceded in death by her father, Richard P. Daigle, and is survived by her loving mother, Claire Daigle.  She is now reunited with her father, Richard P. Daigle leaving behind her devoted mother Claire Daigle, who cherishes her memory.

Elaine will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her mother Claire, her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David and her beloved goddaughter, Dayana (Munchkin).

She was lovingly known as the "Bear Lady" for her extraordinary talent and passion for crocheting bears, each one crafted with care and compassion.  Her handmade bears brought comfort and joy to countless individuals especially veterans, those who cherished freedom and people impacted by natural disasters.  She had a special spot for children in foster care and those bravely battling cancer, often creating bears just for them to provide a sense of comfort and love during difficult times.  Her generosity knew no bounds and her creations became symbols of hope, healing and love. Known and loved by many, she touched lives in ways words can hardly capture, leaving behind a legacy of kindness stitched into every bear she made.

She had a remarkable gift for making meaningful connections and treasured the many friendships she formed both near and far.  Though her circle was small, she held those dear to her close in her heart.  Among those, her bond with her next-door neighbors, Dave and Sheila, was especially dear-more than neighbors, they became family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Mary Church of St. Joachim Parish, 544 Main St, New Britain, CT 06051.  Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.  Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine's memory may be made to Newington Veteran's Coffee House, American Legion Post 117, P.O. Box 310984, Newington, CT 06111-0984.
