Efrain Pereira

Efrain Pereira was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and later made New Britain his home, where he resided since 1980. In his final days, Efrain entrusted himself to God, finding peace and comfort in his faith.

He was a devoted father and grandfather, and a cherished member of his family and community. He is survived by his children: his eldest son, Efrain Pereira Jr.; his daughter, Barbara Pereira; and his youngest son and devoted caretaker, Antony Pereira. He had two granddaughters, Jacqueline Pereira and Jocelyn Pereira. Efrain was a devoted and loving grandfather, and his grandson, Mark Anthony Pereira, held a very special place in his heart and was especially dear to him.

Efrain’s family extended beyond blood, as he welcomed many into his life with love and care. He is also lovingly remembered by Wanda Ortiz, who was like another daughter to him, and her daughter, Ivette Rodríguez Mireles, whom he considered his granddaughter.

Efrain will be remembered for his love of family, his faith, and the lasting bonds he created with all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Calling hours and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
