Edward Vatche Der Asadourian

Vatche “ Edward” Der Asadourian, died peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Vatche was the son of Reverend Fr. Vartan Der Asadourian and Yeretzgin Marie Der Asadourian.

Vatche graduated from Haverhill High School in Haverhill, Massachusetts and Central Connecticut State University with honors and a degree in Economics and Geography. He was an avid reader and lifelong learner who loved to travel. He traveled to many places in Europe and the United States.

He enjoyed a 34-year career in the State of Connecticut Office of Policy and Management.

As the son of an Armenian priest and Yeretzgin, Vatche was faithful to the ways in which he was brought up, especially his religion and Armenian culture. He taught Sunday School for many years at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection in New Britain. He also served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Knights of Vartan.

Vatche was a humble and gentle man who will be missed by his many family members and friends. He is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law: Ralph and his wife, Deborah; Harry and his wife, Jane; nieces, nephews and two great-nieces.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT 06053.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Church, followed by the Church Service at 11:00 am. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT 06053.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
