Edmund L. Henault, Jr.

Edmund L. Henault, Jr., 56, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his loving companion of 42 years, Doris Dyer. Born in New Britain he was the son of the late Edmund L. Henault, Sr. and Bernice (Colella) Henault. Ed worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He was a member of St. Dominic Church, Southington. Ed was a lifelong New Britain resident. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, NASCAR, working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Surviving are his sons, Manuel DePina and his wife Ursula of New Britain, Darrell Dyer and his fiancé Emely Velasco of Southington, his daughter Maria Drouin and her husband Robert of New Britain, his very special "son" Frank Schimanski of New Britain, his brother Henry Henault, his sister Bernice Henault, both of New Britain, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain.
