Eddie Rossy

Eddie Rossy, 59, of New Britain, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Americo and Antonia Saavedra Rossy. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was formerly employed at Brittany Farms Healthcare Center. Eddie will be fondly remembered for his willingness to always lend a helping hand to family and friends. Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Rossy Guyette and her husband Christopher of New Britain and Melissa Rossy and her fiance Julio Andrew of New Britain; two brothers, Israel Rossy and his wife Linda of Georgia and Confesor Rossy of Puerto Rico ; five sisters, Luz Maria Santana of Puerto Rico, Rosa Saavedra and her husband Alfredo of New Britain, Maria Santana and her husband Victor of Bristol, Gladys Rossy and her husband Felipe of New Jersey and Norma Pabon and her husband Wilfredo of New Britain; four grandchildren, Nicholas Rossy, Kristina Cedeno, Geovanny Valerio, and Julianna Andrew Rossy; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Marcial Rossy. Funeral service will be held Saturday todayat 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours are today from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain, Unit N-2, and the Connecticut Hospice for their care and kindness to the family.
