Earl "Don" Blankenburg

Earl "Don" Blankenburg, 87, of Windsor, beloved husband of Ruth Blankenburg, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at UCONN Health Center. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Herman and Bertha Blankenburg. Earl was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a former New Britain resident before moving to Windsor in 1964. Earl was formerly employed as a physical therapist and at Travelers Insurance Company. Surviving are his wife, Ruth (Hoffmann) Blankenburg; a brother-in-law, George Hoffmann, his wife Anneliese, and their son Brian; several cousins, Marie Blankenburg, Alan and Pat Blankenburg, William and Eleanor Blankenburg; a very special cousin, Lynn Blankenburg; and a good friend and his wife, Chuck and Cheryl Pelkey. The family would like to thank the caregivers at UCONN Health Center for their loving care. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial, with military honors, will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
