Douglas M. Jacobs

Douglas Jacobs. age 62, husband of Maria Jacobs, of New Britain passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2023, at Hospital of Central Connecticut with his wife Maria, daughter Amanda, and daughter’s partner Andrew by his side. Douglas was born on June 23, 1961, in Hartford Hospital to his late parents Raymond Jacobs, Sr. (father) and Maryann Fago Moffatt (mother) previously residing in Windsor before settling in New Britain after marrying his wife, Maria. Doug is preceded by his brothers Raymond Jacobs , Jr. and William Jacobs. In addition to his loving wife, Maria and beautiful daughter, Amanda, and Andrew; he is survived and will be dearly missed by his brother Stanley Jacobs and wife Ping and his sister Susan Register.

Mr. Jacobs was self-employed, being the 3 rd generation of his family business DM Jacobs Painting. Douglas was a resident of New Britain. He was married to his beautiful wife Maria Jacobs, and they made their home in New Britain, Connecticut in August of 1987. Douglas was a devoted husband and father who cherished time spent with his family. In addition to raising his adoring daughter, he maintained his career as a painter/contractor. A lighthearted man, he had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. Douglas was an absolute animal lover, enjoyed taking “road trips” everywhere with his wife, spending time with his family, close friends, and his clients, watching the Miami Dolphins play with Andrew, and loved going to the beach, specifically Misquamicut in Rhode Island. Luckily, this year on New Year’s Day we were able to take Douglas to see his first ever NFL game with his wife, daughter, and Andrew. He enjoyed working around the house and spent most of his time being around his wife, daughter, and Andrew. Douglas will be most remembered for his unique personality, for always offering help, his generosity and humor and his way of loving everyone.

The Jacobs family would like to express their deepest gratitude to their family and friends for their many acts of kindness and support during our time of grief.
