Dorothy Frances Macpherson

Dorothy Frances MacPherson, 93, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017.  She was the widow of Edward F. MacPherson.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late David Axel Olander and Ingeborg Olander.  Dorothy was a long time Plainville resident and was formerly employed as a sportswear buyer for Raphael’s Department Store in New Britain for many years.  She also worked as a manager and buyer for Garfield Jones Ladies Shop in Plainville.  Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Plainville.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Julie MacPherson of Tinton Falls, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.   Also surviving are two nieces, Judi and Berti Baker.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra B. Orde, and by two sisters, Evelyn Olander and Mabel Carlson.
