Dorothy A. Hunt

Dorothy A. Hunt died December 25, 2024 at the Avery Heights Nursing Home, Hartford, CT of natural causes. She was born February 8th, 1920 in New Britain, CT, the daughter of Minnie Bertha Adams and James Alexander Kinkade.

She graduated from New Britain High School in 1937. She married Stanley Mills Hunt of New Britain, CT in 1944 and they had three children. She worked for many years at Newington Children's Hospital. After retiring, she lived in Marlborough, CT. She was very active in the Marlborough Congregational Church, which she loved, and worked in the local elementary school. She moved to Avery Heights, a retirement community in Hartford in 2006.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Hunt, in 1967 and her son, James Hunt in 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Hunt of West Windsor, VT, Jane Hunt of Lacey, WA; daughter in law, Maria Constantinides of Holliston, MA; five grandchildren, Kadie Whalen, Emily Luebkert, James Steinberg, Masha Hunt and Dmitry Hunt; and nine great grandchildren, Everett Whalen, Nora Whalen, Sarah Whalen, James Whalen, Emerson Steinberg, Sophia Steinberg, Abigail Steinberg, Benjamin Luebkert and Taylor Luebkert.

A private burial will be held in New Britain and a public service of celebration will be held at the Marlborough Congregational Church in Marlborough, CT on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Marlborough Congregational Church, 35 South Main St., P.O.
