Dora Viel

Dora Viel, 90, of New Britain, widow of Douglas A. Viel, entered into Eternal Rest at Ridgeview Healthcare Center on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002. Born in Presque Isle, ME, she was the daughter of Watson and Mary Brown and lived in New Britain for the past 40 years. She was employed at New Britain General Hospital before retiring in 1979. Her son, Storer Austin Viel, a Korean War Veteran, predeceased her. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Viel, and his wife Shirley Adams Viel of East Hartford and Darrell W. Viel of Panama City, FL; two daughters, Carole A. Street and her husband Keith Street of East Hampton and Dolores Serra and her husband Robert Serra of Fort. Myers, FL; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
