Dominic Mukon

Dominic Mukon, 49, of New Britain, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown after a long illness. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Carol Wunsch Valauskas of Southington and the late Dominic Mukon. Dominic was a New Britain resident most of his life. He was a graduate of Southington Vocational Agricultural High School and was formerly employed in construction. Dominic was an outdoor sportsman and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his mother, Carol Valauskas and step-father, Edmund Valauskas of Southington; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Michael and Sally Mukon of Berlin, David and Lisa Mukon of Cumming, GA, Mark and Melody Mukon of Amston, and Thomas Mukon of Atlanta, GA; a step brother, Edmund Valauskas of Boston, MA; a step sister, Shelly Valauskas of Branford; his special caregivers and friends, Laurie and Danny Hebert of Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Trinity Covenant Church in Plainville. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
