Dionisa Acevedo

Dionisa Acevedo, 35, fondly known as Diony or Dee, passed away on February 9, 2024.  She was the daughter of the late Enrique Acevedo and Janet Acosta.

Diony’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love and kindness.  She was the heart of her community, always bringing joy to those around her. Her role as Godmother and Titi was filled with unconditional love and care.  Her kindness and compassion were a beacon of hope for all of us. Diony will be remembered for her warm heart and caring soul. Her legacy is one of love, family and friendship.

Diony leaves behind her mother, Janet Acosta, and her stepfather, Jorge Acosta, two brothers, Edwin Acevedo and Gilberto Drohin, three sisters, Angelica Acevedo, Yesenia Acevedo and Luz Drohin and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by a brother Henry Acevedo. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.  The funeral service will be Saturday, February 24th from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
