It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dennis O'Brien, on Sept 3, 2018, age 69, with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Mary Martin-O'Brien and beloved father of Katie O'Brien. He was the son of Mary (Fagan) O'Brien and John O'Brien.  Dennis grew up in Berlin/Kensington, attending Berlin High School where he was a member of the 1963 undefeated football team and competed also in baseball and excelled in track.  He graduated from American International College. He worked in the Travel Industry for over 45 years and often said how lucky he was going to a work he loved every day.

Dennis was blessed with the Irish gift of gab and no piece of trivia, especially movie trivia, was beyond him. He was an avid reader.  He reveled in the outdoors and sports, especially in Vermont. Many happy memories were made in Vermont with both friends and family including fly fishing, skiing with Katie, New Years Eve parties and hours working on the 'farm' which brought joy to his heart. He appreciated all athletics, both men’s and women’s sports, with a special love for the New York Yankees, the Patriots, UConn Women’s and Men’s basketball and Notre Dame football.  Not only a competitor, he was also a referee of four high school sports, sharing his love of competition and sportsmanship.

In addition to his wife Mary Martin-O’Brien and his daughter Katie O’Brien, Dennis also leaves behind his twin sister and dear friend, Denise O'Brien (Joe) of Leland, NC and brother John O'Brien (Wanda) of Nicholls, GA  in addition to his special aunt, Fayne Gaffney of Berlin. He also leaves his nephew, Grant O'Brien (Melissa) and their children, John and Avery of Andover, NJ. He leaves many dear friends, too numerous to list, of special note, Patricia (Gaffney) Clair, Don Valeggia, Jim Sylvester and Rich Dinda who were devoted, lifelong friends.
