Deborah Jacobsen

Deborah (Hofher) Jacobsen, of Essex, formerly of New Britain, wife of Jake Jacobsen, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born in New Britain she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Campbell) Hofher. She attended local schools and was a graduate of New Britain High School. She then attended Hanover School of Modeling and Morse Secretarial School. She moved to Essex in 2004 with the love of her life, her husband Jake. Deborah was a very giving person, just like her mom and dad. Jake and Deborah provided many free hours to counsel people with problems. In addition to her husband Jake, she is survived by two sons, Christian Jacobsen of Essex and Jason Jacobsen and his wife Rachel of New Britain. Her family made her life complete. On many occasions, Deborah told friends and family if she never had another happy day, she had it all. In fact, she wrote a book titled "The Three Men in Her Life". She is also survived by her special friend, Sue Greco, who was like a sister; and by several nieces and nephews. Deborah was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Hofher of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Clarence "Jack" Hofher of Cooper City, FL. Deborah will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
