David J. Kuzmech, 67, of Newington, beloved husband of Marlene A. Colella, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Patchogue, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith Morse Kuzmech. He was a former New Britain and Plainville resident, before moving to Newington 21 years ago. He was formerly employed as the Financial Administrative and Control Manager of Budget Development at the State Department of Transportation for 46 years, retiring in 2002. David was a Notary Public. He was a member of Bethany Covenant Church in Berlin. He enjoyed his automobiles, traveling with his wife Marlene, and bowling with his friends from the DOT. In addition to his wife Marlene, he is survived by two daughters,g Robin Alyce Cicerella-Seed and her husband Gary of Cromwell, Tracy Alyce Cicerella-St. Amand and her husband Bob of Bristol; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Ruth Kuzmech of Naugatuck; two grandchildren, Bryan Keith Backiel and his wife Melissa, and Rachel Marlene Hernandez and her husband Jose; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Antonio Hernandez, Baylee Keith Backiel and Ava Marie Hernandez; his best friends, Rich and Colleen Copeland; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Bethany Covenant Church, Berlin. A reception will follow at the church. There are no calling hours.
