Dante William Genovese

Dante William Genovese, 86, of New Britain, husband of Barbara (Nelson) Genovese, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Frank and Assunta Genovese. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and was formerly employed at Stanley Works. Dante loved gardening, his two cats, and nature. Surviving are his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Genovese; four daughters, Catherine Demetro of New Britain, Marion Gawron and her husband Mark of Southington, Susan Diliberto and her husband Mark of Kensington, and Patricia Benayed of New Britain; a sister, Theresa Favara of Florida; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters. Private funeral services will be held at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
