Constance S. Surawski

Constance S. Surawski, 86, of New Britain, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at the Hospital of Central CT. She was the widow of Stanley Surawski. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Raposa) Sylvia. She was a life-long New Britain resident and was formerly employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. Constance was a member of St. Mary Church, the New Britain Council of Catholic Women, and the New Britain Seniors. Surviving are her sister, Phyllis Sylvia of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews including Paul and Shelley Sylvia of Auckland, New Zealand. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Tony, Joe, Ernest, Malcolm (Sonny), and Edmund; and by three sisters, Mary, Lena, and Elsie. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
