Constance "Connie" Silvestro

Constance “Connie” Silvestro, 88, a lifetime resident of New Britain passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Pat Silvestro to whom she was married for 64 years.  She was the youngest daughter of the late Nazzareno and Santa (Spada) Puglisi.

She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished family above all.  Connie put her heart and soul into cooking for Sunday dinners and holidays at the family home on Vance St.  Everyone was welcome to come to share a meal as she would always say, “what’s one more.”  Connie worked side by side with her husband, Pat, in all endeavors including Kiddieland at Sound View Beach in Old Lyme, a family owned business.

Surviving are her daughter, Paula Silvestro of New Britain, a son Pat Silvestro and his wife Cheryl of New Britain and Old Lyme, three grandchildren, Kelly Silvestro, Jenna DeSena and her husband Nicholas; Patrick Silvestro and his wife Marissa and four great grandchildren, Hunter, Brayden and Taylor DeSena and Patrick Silvestro.  In addition, she leaves a special niece Paula Saccente and her husband John of New Britain and their children, Jason, Trevor and Deena and her brother-in-law and his wife, Joel and Linda Silvestro of Kensington and their two children, James and Cerina.  She was also predeceased by her sister and best friend, Frances Ciandella.

Funeral services are private.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Msgr.
