Connie "Tina" Colangelo

Connie “Tina” Colangelo, 85, of East Berlin, passed away peacefully at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain on Monday. She was the beloved wife of Silvio “Sid” Colangelo.

Born in Berlin, Connie was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Lucy (Mancarella) Marino. She has been a lifelong resident of Berlin and East Berlin. Connie worked as a Secretary for the University of Hartford and later Wesleyan University, retiring in 1996. Music and time with her family was what she enjoyed the most.

In addition to her husband, Connie is survived by her son Michael Colangelo of CA, her daughter and son-in-law Jean and Keith Orawiec of PA, her grandchildren Shawna and Michael Orawiec, her two sisters Angie Luca and her husband James of Meriden and Sally DePalma and her husband Joseph of Bristol.  Connie is also survived by a large number of nephews and nieces whom she adored very much.  She was predeceased by her sister Lena Uryga.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
