Concetta (Giarratana) Bordonaro, 92, of Berlin, and widow of Sebastian Bordonaro passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1932, in Floridia, Sicily to the late Salvatore Giarratana and Concetta (InDomenico) Giarratana. She came to the United States when she was 16 years old where she met and married the love of her life, Sebastian. She spent the majority of her life living in New Britain with Sebastian and their children. Although she worked as a seamstress for a good part of her adult life, her whole focus was on taking care of her family. She was a selfless person always putting her family and friends before her needs. Everything revolved around her great cooking, being at the dinner table enjoying her delicious food, and enjoying her time with family and friends.
Concetta is survived by her son, Sal and his wife Susan and her son Vinny and his wife Marie. She also leaves behind her sister Lidia Onisto and her husband Joseph; her sister Maria Perrault; her grandchildren, Erica and her husband Justin, Gregory and his wife Sharon, Jamie, Sebby, David, and Steven; her great grandchild Alex; and many nieces and nephews who adored her and who she treated like her own kids. She will also be missed by her best friend, Annie Krawciw, who would call her every day to check in on her.
Concetta was predeceased by her sister Carmela Cialfi and her husband Andrew, her sister Lucy Ciarcia and her husband Paul, her brother Sebastian Giarratana and his wife Josephine, her brother-in-law Dennis Perrault, and brother-in-law Michael Bordonaro and his wife Virginia.
