Clara Muller

Clara (Schultz) Muller, having been blessed with 96 years of life and love, went home to be with her creator on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. She came into the world on March 19, 1917, the first child of Julius and Emma Schultz of New Britain, CT. As time passed, the family was joined by her brother Bernard and sisters Hulda, Alma, and Barbara. In June of 1941, Clara married Wilbur Muller, also a New Britain resident and her friend for seven years. They were to spend the next 55 years caring for each other and together raised four children: Judith Anderson, currently residing in Springfield, Ohio; Warren Muller of Port Townsend, Washington; Robert Muller, living in Bristol, Connecticut; and John Muller, at home in Tully, New York. Clara was fortunate to experience the delight of seeing into adulthood her seven grandchildren. From Judy came Mark and Katie, Warren provided Tanya, Amanda and Matthew, and John brought Erin and Sarah. Naturally words cannot relate the fullness of happiness felt by the arrival of six great-grandchildren. A seventh, due to come in a day or two, will get a heavenly send off from great grandma herself. To better contribute to the development of herself and family, Clara participated in numerous support groups. During her active membership in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, she gave service as secretary and treasurer of the Walther League and as president of the Parent-Teachers Association. As a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church, she assumed responsibilities as president of the Ladies Guild, VP of the Valparaiso University Guild, performed duties in the Missionary League, and also found the time to teach Sunday and Vacation Bible School. Moreover, her life was broadened by activities in a historical society, a postcard club, and a malacological organization. For those relatives and dear friends left behind, all can find joy in knowing Clara is reunited with her beloved soulmate Wilbur through the calling of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. There are no calling hours. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
