Christopher Donald Norton

Christopher Donald Norton, 36, of Kensington, husband of Nakita Norton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in Johnstown, PA, he was a Kensington resident most of his life.  Christopher attended Berlin Schools and played baseball with the Berlin Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, snowboarding, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Christopher’s greatest love was cooking and was formerly employed as a sous chef at Max Downtown.

Surviving are his wife, Nakita (Gettner) Norton; his four month old daughter, Holly Angeline Norton; his mother, Sue Norton of Kensington; his father, Donald Norton of Newington; a brother, Caleb Norton of Kensington; a sister, Candace Norton of New Britain; his grandmother, Patricia Smith of Johnstown, PA; his mother-in-law, Kalli Hammerstad of North Haven; several close special friends including Nick, Gus, Tommy, Andy, Will, and Carlos; several aunts and uncles including Rev. James Norton; and his beloved dog, Desert.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Smilow Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital, Dr. V, Joy and Erica, and special friends on 8-1 at St. Francis Hospital.
