Charlotte E. Sterbens, 85, of Kensington, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 22, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Richard G. Sterbens. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ellen Swanson Johnson. She attended local schools and was a New Britain resident before moving to Kensington 20 years ago. She was formerly employed at D&L and the Weathervane Stores, before retiring, and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in New Britain. Charlotte loved giving of herself and doing for others. She will always be remembered for the special way she touched so many people's lives in this way. Surviving are her loving daughter, Carlene Kosakowski and husband Robert of Winsted; a sister, Carol Johnson of Kensington; a brother, Norman Johnson of Plantsville and Florida; two grandchildren, Eric Kosakowski and fiance Christin Wood, and Kevin Kosakowski, and wife Jenny; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn, Kevin, and Katlyn; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Sq., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
