Charles A. Stewart

Charles A. Stewart, 72, of New Britain and Meriden, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024.  Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Grady Stewart and Elizabeth (Albea) Stewart.  He was a graduate of New Britian High School where he played football and ran track.  Charles was a member of Spottswood AME Zion Church and enjoyed baseball.

Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Patricia Mabin, Phillip Stewart, Maxwell Stewart, Gregory Stewart, Gratia Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Mustafa Chavis, and by a nephew, Trejion Stewart.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11 AM at Spottswood AME Zion Church in New Britain.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 10 AM until the time of the service.
