Charles Kline, 78, of New Britain, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in Dale, S.C., he was the son of the late Daniel and Jannie Kline. He was a New Britain resident for over 50 years and was formerly employed at General Electric. Surviving are three children, Wendy MacDonald, Michael Kline, and Melvin Kline; five step-children, Ronald Williams, Carla Ager, Pamela Williams, Charita Williams and Joe Ellison; his loving and devoted long-time friend, Betty Williams; seven sisters, Gladys Legare, Emily Williams, Gloria Clark, Cynthia Smalls, Jannie Etta Kline, Marva Kline, and Joyce Kline; two brothers, George Kline and Alester Kline; eleven grandchildren, including a loving and devoted granddaughter Melanie Kline; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Kline, a sister, Katherleen Kline Sanders, and a son, Keith Clayton. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 11, from 1-5 PM at the Quartette Club, 225 Wooster St., New Britain, with a Service of Remembrance from 1-2 PM. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
