Ceslaus P. Sacharko, 81 of New Britain Connecticut, passed away on June 10, 2010. Ceslaus Chet was born on June 7, 1929 in New Britain to the late Jan and Justyna Sacharko Bulach. Chet lived in New Britain all his life, where he raised his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with NATO Forces in Europe during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 511 and the 169th Infantry Veterans Corps as well as a devout parishioner of St Josephs Parish in New Britain, CT. Chet was retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford after over 30 years of service. In his earlier years, Chet enjoyed fishing and hunting, his most recent passions were wood-working, gardening and bird-watching. Chet was always lending a helping hand to those in need, especially his family. His memory will be with his friends and family forever. Along with his partner of thirty years, Dianne H. Traina, he leaves his three children Rae L. Quackenbush of New Britain, Debbie S. Gagnon and her husband Michael of Eagle Lake, Maine and Chet J. Sacharko also of New Britain; his only grandson Robert B. Quackenbush of Tampa, Florida; his only surviving brother Ladislaus Sacharko and his wife Maureen, of New Britain; his brother in law Retired Chief, George O. Jones of Flanders, CT; and his sister-in-law Winifred Sacharko, of Allagash Maine along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-5 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Veterans section of Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
